Chiltern Open Air Museum
On Tuesday 18th June, Year 3 travelled to the Chiltern Open Air Museum.
Here the children got to experience a real bit of Stone age life to link in with their topic. First, the children made their very own tools, using sticks, raffia, charcoal and slate. They discussed how the tools would be used. The children impressed the workshop leaders with their expert knowledge! After that, the children got to forage in the forest for parsnips, make their own little fire, hunt a mammoth, build a den using animal hides, and finally create their own stone age drawings with charcoal.
Luckily the weather was fantastic and the children had a great time.
