Year 6's trip to Kenwood House
Linked to Black History Week, Year 6 visited Kenwood House and learnt about Dido Belle who once lived there.
Each class attended a workshop where they explored Kenwood House and learnt about how Lord Mansfield, through raising Dido Belle alongside his great-neice Elizabeth Murray, changed his opinions on slavery and helped to fight towards its abolition.
The children also had the opportunity to explore the grounds, sketching the house and a Henry Moore sculpture and seeing similar views of London to those that feature in the famous painting of Dido Belle.
